One-Day Research Conference Wednesday February 25, 2015, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 301D Life Sciences Building

The Polar Center is hosting a one-day research conference featuring presentations by Polar Center post-docs and students.

The conference theme “Advances in Polar Research Since the IPY”, is intended to highlight developments in polar research since the close of the 4th International Polar Year, during which there were many calls for multidisciplinary approaches to the study of climate change in the Polar Regions.

Moreover, the conference will serve to enhance our own awareness of the breadth of exciting research underway within the Center, and will be an important mechanism for fostering future collaborations.

Relevant papers emerging from the conference will be eligible for publication in a special issue of the new open-access journal Climate Change Responses. For reference, the journal is:

“An open access interdisciplinary journal dedicated to publishing exceptional research on ecological and evolutionary responses to climate change, past, present, and future. The journal is especially interested in publishing ground-breaking work linking responses to environmental change across levels of biological organization, from individuals to ecosystems, and with an emphasis on species interactions.”

The conference is open to the public.
